The town of Duxbury is accepting applications for a qualified, regular, full-time, benefit-eligible Mechanic, Vehicle Maintenance, Highway position starting July 1. Uses extensive knowledge and skill for repair, maintenance and modification of trucks, earth-moving equipment, and automobiles used in the various divisional work assignments. Operation of and ordinary maintenance of equipment (trucks, tractors, power mowers and other tools of the trade), instructs employees in the correct and proper usage of same. Participates in town-wide snow and ice removal operations. Maintains vehicle records. Education and Experience: High School or Technical School diploma or G.E.D. with three years of related work experience required, an Associate’s Degree in advanced automotive technology preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential function of the position.
Special Requirements: Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License, Hydraulics 2B, and Class B (CDL) license. Specialized training in brakes, hydraulics, engine repair, and electronics preferred. This is a AFSME Council 93, Local 1700 union position. Pay range $25.89 to $33.58 per hour, in 8 steps. Position open until filled.
