The Lincoln Public Library seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and forward-thinking professional as its next Library Director – someone who enjoys and excels at customer service, approaches challenges and opportunities with an open mind and respect for others, and promotes and empowers a diverse and inclusive community. The Lincoln Library, a charming, picturesque building located in the heart of Lincoln’s historic district, also houses the town’s primary archival vault. The Library Director works with an outstanding and highly professional staff, devoted and energetic Friends of the Library, and a supportive Board of Trustees to plan and deliver exceptional patron-centered services and resources. Named one of the top 20, five-star libraries in the nation in its expenditure class by the Library Journal in 2022, the Lincoln Library would welcome a Director who can continue to lead the effort to maintain that remarkable level of service. To that end, the successful candidate is self motivated, level headed, judicious, detail oriented, organized, flexible, creative, tech savvy, a great multitasker with strong verbal and written communication skills, a robust sense of humor, a can-do attitude, and a friendly and professional demeanor.

Required: A master’s degree in library science and a minimum of five years of professional library experience at progressively more responsible levels, including three years of supervisory experience.

Salary range: $90,000-$105,000 with attractive benefits.
