Townsend seeks qualified applicants for the position of Land Use Coordinator. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule to include evening meetings.

The position is responsible for: supervisory, administrative, and technical work coordinating the land use staff and work of various land use related boards and committees; promoting the interests of the town through bylaws, plans, programs, and outreach that address the town’s needs in affordable housing, land use, community and economic development, and conservation; the department budget; preparing grant applications and administration; and related work.

BA in land use planning, public administration, environmental science, regional planning or related field and three to five years of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification and experience. Must possess strong public relations and interpersonal skills, computer skills with GIS/GPS knowledge preferred, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Valid Massachusetts driver’s license required.

Salary: $65,312-$66,628 ($31.28-31.91/hour) with benefits. This is a union position subject to collective bargaining agreements.
