The town of Wayland Police department seeks candidates for a full-time Joint Communications Dispatcher. This essential role supports the town’s public safety operations in answering calls from the public and dispatching public safety services. This position works under the general supervision of the Police Chief, with input from the Fire Chief, and performs a variety of responsible dispatching and administrative functions in accordance with established standard operating procedures for Wayland Police and Fire with 24/7 operations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and over two years of experience in a responsible position involving work with the public, working knowledge of computer/software programs required. Experience working in emergency or security services preferred. Certification in enhanced 9-1-1- systems in Massachusetts preferred. If not certified, must obtain certification within three months of hire.
This is a non-exempt full-time benefits eligible position. Hourly Rate Range: $32.59 to $40.83. Full-time is 37.5 hours per week, on a day, evening or night shift. For the full job description click here.
