General description of essential job tasks:
The following are general descriptions of the essential job tasks of the position. Other related tasks may be assigned as necessary and appropriate.

  • Responsible for managing all network connectivity throughout the enterprise, including cabling and wiring, fiber optics, wireless firewalls, content filters, and VPNs.
  • Responsible for managing all systems, including VMWare, Nutanix, Active Directory, IMC, NetMotion, authentication services, Google Workspace, VoIP, anti-virus, messaging, security systems, energy management systems, and related connectivity equipment.
  • Responsible for managing the radio network
  • Provides managed support for all disaster recovery and backups of enterprise systems.
  • Responsible for overseeing the enterprise WANs and LANs throughout the WESTCOMM footprint, along with all servers and systems.
  • Ensures active account lifecycles and processes in all systems for only those authorized to access.
  • Develop and implement network and system security procedures and policies.
  • Manages personnel requirements, budgets, and network and system development and maintenance schedules. Based on documented processes, coordinate and schedule projects and maintenance events during and after business hours.
  • Coordinates various IT projects the CIO assigns and acts as a project team member as necessary.
  • Manage business process reviews and identify opportunities for development and automation.
  • Work collaboratively with vendors and other agencies to ensure all requests, incidents, problems, and changes are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Performs similar or related work as required.
  • Maintaining internal and external websites

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree including extensive knowledge of the field of information technology, and three years experience preferably in a municipal/government setting, or any equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • ITIL Certification

Salary/Benefits:

Benefits include three weeks paid vacation, three paid personal days, enrollment in Hampden County Retirement, health
Salary range $75,000 – $80,000 depending on experience.
