Position: Information Services Assistant
Hours: 40 hours per week
Status: Non-Union / Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $20.00 – $30.93 DOQ
Plainville is seeking a detail-oriented, customer service-focused individual to serve as an Information Services Assistant in the Police department. This full-time position provides administrative and technical support to department operations, assists the public, and maintains departmental records in compliance with applicable laws and policies.
Responsibilities include:
• Greeting and assisting the public at the station.
• Receiving and recording information from individuals filing police reports.
• Answering telephones, assessing calls, and relaying information to police personnel.
• Operating and maintaining department systems, including data entry and records management.
• Compiling, indexing, and maintaining records of incident and accident reports, arrests, case dispositions, LTC files, and public records requests.
• Ensuring security and confidentiality of all records.
• Providing coverage for the Administrative Assistant as needed.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: HS diploma or equivalent. Prior clerical, dispatch, or law enforcement administrative experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with accuracy, discretion, and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
