The town of Duxbury is seeking a skilled HVAC(R) Technician to support the operation and maintenance of municipal and school facilities. This position follows a regular schedule but requires availability for 24/7 emergency response, including extreme weather and critical events. The role may also include non-mechanical duties to ensure efficient plant operations.
The Technician is responsible for independently diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining HVAC(R) systems, including boilers and chillers. Duties also include planning, scheduling, and overseeing work, while minimizing equipment downtime and delivering excellent customer service. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
Candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least three years of full-time experience with a licensed contractor or maintenance organization, including work with pneumatic and digital control systems. An EPA Universal Refrigerant Technician certification is required, and a Massachusetts HVAC(R) license is preferred (or equivalent experience).
Additional qualifications include computer proficiency, familiarity with building and energy management systems, and a valid driver’s license. Relevant certifications and experience in union environments are a plus.
Salary Range: $29.97 – $40.46 per hour plus excellent benefits.
