The town of Brookline is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Human Services Resource Navigator to support residents in accessing critical social services. This professional role is part of the department of Health and Human Services and focuses on connecting individuals and families with housing, food, behavioral health, employment, and other essential supports.
Key responsibilities include responding to referrals, conducting needs assessments, making appropriate referrals, coordinating with service providers, and maintaining accurate case documentation. The Navigator works closely with internal town departments, regional human service agencies, and community partners to improve access and address gaps in services. The position also involves community outreach, participation in resource fairs, and occasional evening or weekend commitments.
Qualified candidates will have an associate’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field; one to three years of experience in a community-based setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of local resources, strong communication and case management skills, and a commitment to equity are essential. Multilingual fluency and multicultural experience are strongly preferred.
