The town of Mattapoisett is seeking applicants for the position of Human Resource Specialist.

Mattapoisett is a small, coastal community in Southeastern Massachusetts with an annual operating budget of approximately $32 million.

The Human Resource Specialist performs professional and administrative work related to the daily operation of Human Resources within the Treasurer/Collector’s Office. Duties include employee benefit management, personnel file management, assist with the onboarding of new employees, coordinate annual open enrollment, process monthly billing for active benefit plans, assist employees with benefit related questions, assist in the development of employee related town policies and procedures, assist with the creation of contracts, when needed, for various employees, and ensuring that the town is abiding by all municipal, state, and federal guidelines, regulations, and quality standards.

The candidate will work closely with the Treasurer/Collector. The candidate will have access to confidential information and will be required to follow all relevant rules and regulations regarding confidentiality.

The successful candidate shall have, at minimum, an associate’s degree in human resources management, business administration, finance or a related field and at least three to five years’ experience, or a combination of training and experience commensurate with such education and experience. Candidates with comparable experience are encouraged to apply. The candidate should currently have or be able to obtain their Professional in Human Resources certification within five years of hiring.

This is a full-time, non-union position, 35 hours/week, with a starting salary range of $60,000 – $75,000 annually. Pay is dependent on qualifications.
