The city of Watertown seeks a highly skilled and motivated professional to join its HR Department as a Human Resources Generalist.
In this critical role, you will support a diverse range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, records management, budget monitoring, workers’ compensation/Injury on Duty claims, drug test coordination, and FMLA administration.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional judgement, a genuine passion for employee engagement and will play an essential part in promoting a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree or two-year degree equivalent; four to six years of experience in human resources, preferably in a public sector setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (experience with MUNIS preferred).
HOURS: 37.5 hour work week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Tuesdays: 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.).
SALARY: This is a non-union position with a starting salary of $66,154 annually. Hiring above Step 1 dependent on qualifications and experience.
