Position: Human Resources Administrative Assistant
Work Year: 12-month position (benefits eligible)
Hours/Week: 40
Salary Range: $62,000-$67,000

GOAL: Assist the Director of Human Resources and provide support to the Human Resources Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage new hire processing, onboarding/benefits, appointment letters, reporting.
  • Assist with job postings.
  • Produce reports/provide information and data.
  • Process personnel actions forms.
  • Maintain personnel files.
  • Manage leaves of absence.
  • Process employee changes.
  • Reception/phone coverage.
  • Maintain various databases.
  • Complete employment verifications.
  • Manage workers’s compensation claims/communication.
  • Assist with administrator job searches.
  • Facilitate onboarding for student teachers/interns/volunteers.
  • Manage information for unemployment claims.
  • Process CORI checks/verify completion of fingerprinting.
  • Input purchase order requisitions.
  • Assist with various projects.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • At least three years of experience in human resources or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively and professionally with various stakeholders (employees, parents, city officials, community members).
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage them effectively.
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to work both cooperatively and independently.
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  • Experience with finance, attendance management and HRIS systems.
  • Experience with G-Suite preferred.
