The town of Dennis seeks applicants for the full-time position of Housing Coordinator, with a comprehensive benefits package, including a hybrid work environment.

The Housing Coordinator will work with the Dennis Affordable Housing Trust and the Town Planner on affordable housing initiatives for the town.

Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree in government, municipal planning, business or related field with three plus years’ experience in municipal management, housing, planning, procurement or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform essential functions of the position. Desired candidate should have ability to interact effectively with the public and town personnel, ability to multitask, detailed orientated, and ability to work independently and to maintain sensitive, confidential information.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Provides housing related support services for the Dennis Affordable Housing Trust and Town Planner, as appropriate.
  2. Administers housing assistance programs such as the Ready Renter List, Rental Security Deposit/First/Last Month Rent Program and other town supported housing assistance projects.
  3. Assists in the development, approval and implementation of the Dennis Affordable Housing Production plan.
  4. Identifies affordable housing opportunities such as maintaining a list of town-owned vacant parcels; identifying possible public private partnerships for housing; and seeking available housing grant opportunities.
  5. With respect to affordable housing projects, assists Planning Department and Affordable Housing Trust, in developing scope and terms of requests for proposals (RFPs) and other project documents, coordinates review by other town boards and departments, and public comment. Forwards plans for technical review to consulting engineers. Develops the scope of review including establishing time constraints. Refers all plans to required departments for review. Performs coordination of work with other town departments.
  6. Assists in preparing and/or reviewing proposed bylaw amendments and amendments to specific board’s rules and regulations. Prepares support materials as needed. Attends meetings, prepares minutes for DMAHT and other committees, as needed.

Salary range based on education and experience: $60,000 – $70,000.
