The town of Oakham is seeking an experienced professional to lead the Municipal Highway Department. The successful candidate will have skills in project management, grant applications, Chapter 90, administration and leadership. The Highway Superintendent and Highway Department are responsible for the maintenance and repair of public roadways, infrastructure within the town, roads, snow and ice removal. The position requires the ability and experience to operate all equipment generally associated with a town municipal highway department, and to obtain and retain the correct licenses as well as the technical/administrative skills to function in an office environment. This position has an annual starting salary of $73,000 to $76,575 depending on qualifications, with the ability to earn more based upon merit, contract negotiation and successful completion of probationary period.
