The town of Leicester, MA is seeking applicants for Department Assistant to the Highway Department. Working under the direction of the Highway Superintendent, the position is responsible for providing skilled administrative and clerical services including assisting the public with road concerns, processing department payroll and payables, administering the department’s operating budget, issuing invoices for various services, preparing Chapter 90 reimbursements, and providing support to the Parks and Recreation Committee, including typing agendas and meeting minutes. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication and customer service skills as well as the ability to interact courteously with the public, vendors, and other departments. Strong computer skills and general knowledge of office procedures are a must. Municipal experience is preferred, but not required. This a full-time, benefited position working 35 hours per week (M-F 7:30am-2:30pm). Rate of pay is $18.55-$22.07 per hour, DOQ.
