Town of Tyngsborough – Health Director Job Posting
The town of Tyngsborough seeks qualified applicants for the position of Health Director which is an exempt position covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week.
Appointed by the Town Manager, the Health Director oversees the Health Department’s public health and environmental health programs; supervises personnel; administers permits, inspections, and enforcement activities; prepares and manages the department budget; administers grants and contracts; and advises the Board of Health and Town officials on public health matters. This position requires sound judgement, and ability to work effectively and independently with the public and other officials. Evening meetings, emergency response activities, inspections, and occasional weekend activities may be required. A full job description is available at tyngsboroughma.gov.
Minimum Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, environmental health, health administration, environmental science, biology, chemistry, or a related field required; master’s preferred
- Five years of progressively responsible public health or environmental health experience, including supervisory or management experience;
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable transportation required; and
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Anticipated Salary Range: $71,000 to $75,000 DOQ
