The town of Dracut is seeking a forward‑thinking Health Director to lead our Health department and advance the community’s public health priorities. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated public health professional to shape programs, strengthen services, and ensure compliance with state and local health regulations. The Director works under the regulatory authority of the Board of Health, with day‑to‑day administrative oversight from the Assistant Town Manager.
The Director oversees public health programs, inspections, permitting, communicable disease response, and emergency preparedness. This role supervises department staff, collaborates with regional and state partners, and serves as a key resource to residents, businesses, and Town leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in biology, public health, or related field; at least five years of supervisory experience in a Massachusetts municipal setting; strong regulatory and administrative skills; excellent communication and leadership abilities. Registered Sanitarian (or ability to obtain within one year), Food Protection Manager certification, and a valid driver’s license required.
