We are seeking a highly responsible and qualified Health Director to lead the Board of Health department. This position, under the policy direction of the Board of Health, provides for the protection of public health, control of disease, promotion of sanitary living conditions, protection of the ground water and other environmental factors from pollution and managing departmental staff. The position performs complex and highly responsible duties requiring a very high level of initiative and independent judgment and in the direction of various personnel. Customer service is paramount.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of science degree in public health, environmental science or related field and more than three years of experience working in public health or a related field required. Registered sanitarian is preferred; or must become a registered sanitarian within 24 months of appointment. Must successfully complete and earn certifications from recognized seminars and courses e.g., soil evaluator, pool operator, food manager, and septic inspection. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have strong writing skills.
