The town of Dighton is currently looking for a Health Agent. The Health Agent is appointed by and reports to the Board of Health. Recommended minimum qualifications include. Bachelor of science degree in public health or a related field; at least three years prior work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid motor vehicle driver’s license. Must have Title V/ Soil Evaluators License. Must be trained in Incident Command System (ICS100), National Incident Management (NIMS700) and MEMA Web EOC. Work Environment: Working conditions involve frequent exposure to intermittent machine or related noise or a combination of unpleasant elements such as biohazards, loud noises, odors, chemical fumes, dust, smoke, extreme hot or cold temperatures, dirt, or test holes that could cause personal injury when conducting field inspections.

Health department hours are Mon, Tues, Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Wednesday 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., closed Friday. This position is a part time, non-union contract at 28 hours a week. May be required to work beyond or flex normal business hours. Hourly rate up to $41.17 depending on qualifications.
