The town of Groveland is seeking a qualified, part-time Health Agent (17 hours/week) to serve the town’s Board of Health. The Health Agent is responsible for conducting public health inspections, enforcing and interpreting state health codes, and assisting the Board of Health in responding to public health emergencies, in compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, policies, and bylaws. The Health Agent will also perform related duties as required.
Applicants should have a strong working knowledge of state sanitary codes, including food sanitation, subsurface sewage disposal, housing regulations, and other Commonwealth health and environmental laws and codes. Knowledge of septic systems and soil evaluations is essential. Familiarity with related federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations is required. Experience with computers is necessary.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in public health, environmental health, or a related field, with three to five years of relevant experience.
