Job Description
The town of Ashburnham is accepting applications for a Grounds Laborer. This position performs grounds maintenance and labor duties for municipal properties, including cemeteries, parks, trees, and playgrounds. Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, seasonal cleanup, mulching, litter and debris removal, cemetery excavation and funeral assistance, loading and unloading materials, maintaining equipment, tools, and vehicles, and performing routine maintenance and minor repairs to park buildings and equipment. The work is physically demanding, may require lifting more than 30 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, limited public interaction, and 24-hour availability to assist the Highway department with snow removal operations, including plowing, salting, sanding, and snow removal.
