Job Description
The town of Dedham seeks qualified candidates for the position of GIS Manager. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the municipal GIS for the town of Dedham in a highly responsible, professional, managerial, administrative, technical, and analytical position which is responsible for providing management, leadership, vision, coordination, and operation, as well as hands-on stewardship and map production of the town of Dedham’s Geographic Information System.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, cartography, or related field.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online.
- A minimum of 3 years progressively responsible experience in professional GIS positions including supervisory responsibilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in cartographic map production.
- Experience in complex GIS analysis and model building.
- Proficiency in GPS technology and GPS data collection devices.
- Basic experience with Relational Database Management Systems, with a preference for PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Python Scripting.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills, must be able to handle conflicting priorities.
