The town of Shirley Police department is now accepting applications for two full-time Police Officer Position’s, one due to a recent retirement, and one for an anticipated opening after July 1.
Starting salary range is $65,650–$81,212.08. $1,750 annual clothing allowance, Field Training Officer $1,500, Narcan $500, OIC pay, education stipend, and shifts differential, 4.25% for evenings, and 5.75% for midnights.
12 paid holidays, and in addition if you work a holiday, you will be paid at 2.5 times the hourly rate, and three times the hourly rate for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Detail rate: $68.44/hour (standard), $102.66/hour (emergency, 11p–7a, Sundays, and holidays), will go up on July 1.
Vacation (First Year Only): 40 hours after three months, 40 hours after nine months, 80 hours at one‑year anniversary. One to five years, 80 hours. Over five years, you earn 120 hours, over 10 years you earn 160 hours, over 15 years you earn 200 hours, over 20 years you earn 240 hours. You can also earn up to 72 hours of Comp Time.
