The Northborough Fire Department seeks qualified applicants for full-time position(s) of Firefighter/EMT (Paramedic preferred) and to establish a list for an anticipated opening. Applicants must possess Mass./National Registry certification as an EMT-Basic (Paramedic preferred). It is required to obtain and maintain EMT-Paramedic status within two years of appointment. The department will reimburse up to 50% of the cost of paramedic certification upon successful completion of courses, Fire Fighter I/II certificate is desirable. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in fire science or paramedicine is desirable. If the successful applicant has not completed the Mass. Fire Academy’s Career Firefighter Recruit Training Program, he/she will be enrolled post-hire. Per the union contract, the successful candidate shall reside in town or shall establish and/or maintain residency in a community whose border lies within fifteen air miles of Northborough’s border. Valid Massachusetts driver’s license required. Annual compensation base range is $58,138-$71,329, dependent upon qualifications plus EMS stipend based on certification level (EMT-B $3,500, AEMT $5,300, EMT-P $8,000), holiday pay, and educational incentives; comprehensive benefits provided.
