The town of Southbridge seeks candidates interested in working in municipal finance in a Financial Analyst/ARPA Administrator position.

The Position:

As part of a collaborative and dynamic finance team, the Financial Analyst/ARPA Administrator will be responsible to oversee the recovery, disbursement, reconciliation, planning, and accounting of all federal funding relative to the city’s COVID-19 pandemic response. Funding managed to include but is not limited to FEMA reimbursements, Coronavirus Relief Fund/CARES Act, and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Position funded from ARPA and is not expected to continue after the program’s expiration (currently Dec. 31, 2024). Additionally, as part of the finance team, the Financial Analyst/ARPA Administrator will perform analytical and technical work, including accounting and reporting, insurance and risk management, purchasing, along with a variety of analyses and projects. This temporary, grant-funded position is under the supervision of the Finance Director. The position includes compensation of $54,000 for the first and second years and $27,000 for the half-year. This is a benefits-eligible position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, public administration, or relevant field required.
  • Prior municipal experience and/or experience in public accounting, auditing, and financial management is also preferred.
