FINANCE DIRECTOR/TAX COLLECTOR: TOWN OF SMITHFIELD, RI. Full time, non-union, salaried position. Responsibilities include: coordination of all financial activities of the town; development of financial policies; maintenance of municipal accounting systems, financial forecasting, capital planning, reporting and compliance; supervising staff; preparation & maintenance of financial records and budgets. Requirements include: a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) plus five years of supervisory experience in business or public finance, budgeting, financial control and accounting experience or experience that shall be substantially equivalent. Knowledge of laws, ordinances & regulations governing municipal assessment practices. Proficient in the use of Microsoft office, budgetary, and accounting software.
