The town of Ipswich, an S&P AAA rated community with an approximate population 13,176, seeks qualified candidates for full-time exempt position of Finance Director. Responsible for a variety of complex work in the management and oversight of the financial functions of the town, including planning, organizing, directing and controlling the operations and activities of the Department of Finance, including accounting, collections, treasury, assessing, purchasing, accounts payable, and town clerk and elections. Candidates must have excellent analytical, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, be proficient in computer applications and have excellent skills to interpret and present data. Candidates should have a master’s degree in public or business administration or related field plus five years progressively responsible experience in municipal finance or administration. Knowledge and application of municipal finance, budget, and accounting practices; municipal finance software and spreadsheet; and other financial tools. Reports to the Town Manager.
