The town of Hatfield is seeking a full-time experienced municipal financial professional to provide guidance to the leadership of the town and manage the town’s financial functions; perform technical accounting; use VADAR computer applications to maintain the fiscal records and systems of the town; complete all internal and external financial reporting requirements; and interpret and administer federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies relevant to municipal financial management. Perform all other related work as required.

The Finance Director will do financial projections for the town and serve as the Town Accountant, complying with all statutory and bylaw requirements of the position. Works with the Finance Committee to develop a budget each year. In close cooperation with the Town Treasurer, performs regular transactional duties such as: accounts payable, posting accounts receivable, and monthly reconciliations.

Five or more years of progressively responsible related experience in a municipal accounting environment is required. CGA or CPA certification preferred.

This is a non-union position. Salary commensurate with experience within a hiring range of $78,000-$90,000 annually. Salary and terms to be negotiated with the Select Board.
