The town of Carver (pop. 11,500), has a $44 million budget and a AA bond rating. The town is seeking an experienced and professional municipal finance leader to serve as its next Finance Director. Candidates should have exceptional financial acumen and a strong leadership ability. Reporting directly to the Town Administrator, the Finance Director also serves as the Town Accountant. Responsibilities include maintaining a complete set of accounting records including appropriations, expenditures, receipts, assessments, levies and abatements. This position oversees Accounting, Treasurer/Tax Collector & Assessing.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, a minimum of five years of responsible related experience in accounting or financial management.  Experience in municipal accounting preferred. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of municipal accounting and of applicable provisions of the Mass. General Laws as well as experience with SoftRight required. Annual Salary: $120,000+ DOQ.
