Facilities Manager – City of Melrose

Melrose Public Works seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee 1.5 million square feet of city and school facilities, including 20 municipal buildings. Reporting to the Director of Public Works, this role manages custodial and trades staff, contractors, and vendors; oversees building systems, energy programs, and preventive maintenance; and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and procurement standards. Responsibilities include budgeting, capital planning, emergency operations, and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management
  • 10+ years building management experience, including five to 10 years in construction/trades
  • Technical experience with HVAC and MEP systems
  • Five-plus years supervising staff and contractors
  • Valid Driver’s License; ability to obtain Construction Supervisor’s LicenseOSHA 30, and Asbestos certification within two years
Salary: $114,816–$119,454.40 annually, plus benefits.
