The city of Watertown seeks a professional, organized individual to join the City Manager’s office as an Executive Assistant. The Executive Assistant will provide administrative support to the Deputy City Manager (to whom this position reports directly), the Assistant City Manager for Finance, and the city’s Communications Team. This position will also provide back-up administrative support to the City Manager as well as the city’s 311 Service Center as needed.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing excellent customer service by phone and email and in person; processing requisitions and invoices; ordering supplies; meeting and event coordination and preparation; light writing, proofreading, and editing; light website support; preparing the annual report; and general office support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree and a minimum of four years of professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, Office365, and Adobe Acrobat. Excellent customer service and written and oral communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and to work in a busy environment with frequent interruptions.

TERMS/HOURS: The work week is 37.5 hours (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesdays: 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). This position is eligible for flexible working hours and up to one day of remote work.

SALARY: The Step 1 salary for this position is $66,154. Hiring above Step 1 is dependent on qualifications and experience.
