The Field Engineering Aide/Permit Officer performs routine and responsible paraprofessional work in the provision of engineering services in the City, as well as other related duties as assigned.
Works under the general direction of the DPW Commissioner, City Engineer and close supervision of the Assistant City Engineers.

- Provides supportive administrative and paraprofessional services for various projects related to the construction and/or maintenance of civil infrastructure, including but not limited to drainage, roadways, stormwater, water, and wastewater.
- Tracks materials and general construction information; crosschecks against invoices and contracts with various vendors and coordinating partners.
- Maintains relevant records and processes permits, including Dig Safe mark outs and mark out requests, trench permits, public rights of way permits.
- Performs other related job duties as required.
Minimum Requirement:
- Associate degree with one to three years’ experience in the industry.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field with one year of related experience.
