Examples of Duties: This position conducts field inspections and provides technical support related to civil engineering and environmental sciences to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations related to town engineering, water, waste water, storm water, solid waste and highway projects. Collaborates with town departments and committees, including planning, zoning, conservation, building, assessors, cemeteries, parks and recreation, and open space, conducts investigations and prepares reports. Reviews plans and inspects commercial, subdivision, municipal, and residential horizontal construction projects to ensure compliance with regulations and engineering principles.
Min. qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field focused on environmental science, geology, hydrology, and regulatory compliance plus three to five years experience in related field. Valid driver’s license. Experience with Microsoft applications, AutoCAD, surveying and GIS. OSHA General Industry and Construction (training provided) NPDES – Certified Stormwater Inspector (within six months of hire) Wetlands Protection Act (general knowledge required, additional training provided).
Salary: Grade 9, $67,565 to $88,628 DOQ
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., potential work outside of regular office hours.
