The town of Bedford seeks a highly skilled and accomplished professional to fill the newly created position of Energy and Sustainability Manager in the Town Manager’s Office.
The Energy and Sustainability Manager will develop and administer programs, policies, and initiatives to advance the town of Bedford’s sustainability profile. This position will address sustainability, energy savings, greenhouse gas mitigation, resilience, and mobility and building programs within residential, commercial, and municipal sectors, and coordinate closely with relevant town departments, boards, and commissions.
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, energy or environmental policy, architecture, urban planning, or other related field, plus a minimum of five years of experience in sustainability planning, energy efficiency and/or renewable energy, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Graduate level degree is preferred. Successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, town boards and commissions, community members, and other external partners.
Starting salary range is $71,927 to $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
