The city of Woburn is seeking an Energy Advocate to join the Planning Department and help advance our sustainability goals while supporting residents and small businesses in reducing energy costs. This position will work closely with city departments as well as many nonprofit and community-based organizations across the city. The Energy Advocate will lead local outreach and education efforts related to the Mass Save program, with a focus on increasing participation among renters, landlords, moderate-income households, non-English-speaking residents, and small businesses.
The Energy Advocate will lead Woburn’s community outreach under the Mass Save Community First Partnership (CFP), with a special focus on serving renters, landlords, moderate-income households, non-English-speaking households, and small businesses. This role will foster partnerships, provide support for navigating available programs, and act as a resource for the community, helping residents and businesses reduce energy use and lower utility bills—contributing to a more sustainable Woburn.
As part of a statewide cohort of Energy Advocates supported by the Sponsors of Mass Save (Eversource and National Grid) this individual will receive training and ongoing support.
Hours and Compensation: 32.5 hours a week, $35.50-$38.46 per hour. This position is grant funded for three years, with possibility of renewal.
