The city of Cambridge is seeking an Employee Relations Manager to manage complex employee issues, conduct thorough investigations, and serve as a subject matter expert on employee relations and labor practices. Lead the end-to-end management of complex employee relations matters, including allegations of misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and other workplace conflicts. Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations: gather documentation, interview relevant parties, analyze facts, and determine findings. Prepare clear, detailed investigative reports and present findings and recommendations to the Director of Labor Relations, Chief People Officer, City Solicitor’s Office and other stakeholders as needed. Partner with the City Solicitor’s Office to ensure consistency, compliance, and legal soundness in recommendations and outcomes. Review trends in employee relations data and provide insights to guide proactive interventions and policy updates. Advise and coach managers on conflict resolution, performance management, and consistent application of HR policies. Minimum of five years of progressive HR management experience with a strong emphasis on employee relations and workplace investigations. Strong knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local employment and labor laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, Title VII, FLSA, EEO, etc.).

Rate: $115,244.07 – $137,253.93 annually
