The town of Lancaster seeks a full-time (40 hours/week) Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO)/Laborer-Water in the department of Public Works-Water Division. This is a Grade G position with benefits within the Public Works bargaining unit, with a full FY 2027 pay scale range of $24.82 – $32.44 per hour, with an Expected Starting Pay Range of $24.82 -$27.17 per hour, DOQE. Among other duties, the Heavy Equipment Operator-Water is responsible for safely operating a variety of heavy and light equipment and performing manual work and in connection with the construction, maintenance, repair, and response operations of the Department of Public Works-Water Division. Class B Commercial Driver’s License and a Class 2B Hoisting License are required. It will also be required to achieve Massachusetts Drinking Water Distribution 1 (D1) and Treatment 1 (T1) licenses within the first year of employment.
