The town of Orleans is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Public Works and Natural Resources to plan, direct, and oversee public works construction and maintenance, solid waste management, environmental management and protection, municipal buildings, property and facilities management, water supply treatment and distribution, stormwater collection and treatment, and wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership, communication, and municipal budgeting skills.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and PE licensure required; seven to 10 ten years of progressively responsible experience in municipal public works construction and maintenance, at least five of which are in a supervisory capacity; and/or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must establish residency within a 15-mile radius of Town Hall within one year of the date of hire.
Salary Range: $116,000-$173,000, 40 hours/week. Complete applications due by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29.
