The town of Norton seeks an experienced Director of Public Works to lead a full-service department responsible for Highway, Water and Sewer, Solid Waste, Facilities, and Cemetery Operations. The Director provides strategic and administrative leadership, oversees daily operations, budgets, and capital projects, and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations (DEP, EPA, MS4, OSHA). The position works closely with the Water and Sewer Commission on policy, planning, and rate matters and reports directly to the Town Manager.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, financial management, and communication skills, along with experience in infrastructure planning, capital delivery, labor relations, and community engagement. DPW Director experience, PFAS mitigation experience, sanitation/site transfer station experience, demonstrated inter-departmental cooperation and cost savings experience highly desired.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, public administration, or related field; 10-plus years of progressive public works or utility experience, including five-plus in management. MA Class D license required; Drinking Water/Wastewater certification preferred or obtainable within one year.

Salary: $133,000–$180,000 DOQ, with excellent benefits.
