The city of Fitchburg is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the position of the Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources works under the supervision of the Mayor, and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management for the city. This role provides strategic and operational leadership in areas including recruitment and retention, labor and employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, workplace safety, and compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. The Director serves as a trusted advisor to department heads and elected officials, ensures fair and equitable HR practices, and fosters a positive, inclusive, and productive workplace culture that supports the municipality’s mission and public service goals, and to administer the personnel policies of the city of Fitchburg, as defined by Chapter 35, Personnel Policies of the city of Fitchburg City Code and all other work which is logical to the position. The hiring range for this position is $81,484 – $115,804.
