The town of Weymouth has a challenging opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Director. Working under the direction of the Mayor and Chief of Staff. Works independently in accordance with municipal policies and objectives. Plans, controls and directs the Human Resource function for the Town of Weymouth. Develops and implements HR policies, procedures and systems in support of the strategic objectives as established by the Office of the Mayor. Coordinates and conducts an annual review of HR policies with the Administration. Manages the town’s benefit function. Ensures the town is in full compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. Provides guidance to the Benefits Coordinator relative to the development and implementation of employee benefit communications. Ensures that employee benefit inquiries are promptly reviewed and resolved by department staff. Directs the town Affirmative Action efforts. Guides department staff as to the preparation of EEO/AA reports. Reviews all ongoing complaints and investigations. Serves as key policy maker in the resolution of any issues with federal and state administrative agencies. Serves as a member of the town’s collective bargaining team. Assists in preparation with cost analysis of the team’s various negotiation alternatives. May become involved with significant arbitration and grievance proceedings. Works on grievances from various unions, in accordance with their respective CBA’s.

In order to be considered, the candidates must possess bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or other human resources-related fields. A master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of five to seven years related experience, three of which have been in a supervisory capacity; municipal experience desirable; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The salary range for this position is $99,132.23 to $122,181.90 DOQ
