The town of Leicester is seeking an experienced, motivated community development professional to serve as its Director of Development and Inspectional Services/Town Planner. This position is responsible for professional, technical, and administrative work overseeing the Department of Development and Inspectional Services (DIS), which includes planning, zoning, building, conservation, a local water body commission, and code enforcement. The position oversees the administration of the town’s zoning bylaws, subdivision rules and regulations, evaluation of subdivision plans, the preparation of proposed amendments to the zoning bylaw, and the master plan. Night meetings required.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field; five years of land use or planning experience, preferably in local government; three years in supervisory capacity, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in planning; AICP Certification; GIS experience.
Salary: $64,000 to $102,000, DOQ.
