The town of Dartmouth is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director of Conservation and Environmental Affairs to ensure the protection of our natural resources. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional dedicated to wetlands protection, ecological stewardship, land management, and environmental compliance.  This role combines regulatory oversight, fieldwork, project coordination and community engagement.

As a key member of our municipal team, the Director supports the Conservation Commission, works closely with the Select Board, and collaborates with a wide range of local, state and federal partners. This position plays a central role in wetlands protection, environmental permitting, and long-term conservation planning. The ideal candidate is an independent thinker, excellent communication skills and strong knowledge of environmental regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, land use management, environmental law or related field (master’s preferred)
  • Two years’ experience in conservation, environmental planning, or wetlands management (or five years equivalent specialized experience)
  • MACC Certification/DEP training a plus

Salary Range: $85,000 – $115,000 | Starting salary
