The town of Nantucket, Massachusetts, has an immediate opening for two Deputy Fire Chief positions. One Deputy in Operations and the second Deputy in Training and Administration. Appointed by the Fire Chief, the Deputy Chiefs assist with the coordination and administration of the divisions of the department that handle emergency calls, fire protection and prevention, fire inspection and arson investigation; as well as building and vehicle maintenance including ensuring compliance with all related laws, rules and regulations. In 2021, the Nantucket Fire Department began delivering advanced life support on the ambulance. The department is funded for staff of a Chief, Deputy Chief of Operations, Deputy Chief of Training and Administration, four Lieutenants, four Captains, 24 FT firefighters, two Fire Prevention Officers, and 18 Paid Call.

Salary range of $140,000-$170,000, commensurate with qualifications.
