Come join our dynamic team! The city of Newton is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Deputy Commissioner of Inspectional Services/Plans Examiner. The purpose of this position is to provide managerial and executive level leadership and guidance in the management of the Inspectional Services Department; process applications for a variety of development and related permits, including responding to inquiries via telephone, email, and face-to-face requests from residents, contractors, public officials, and other city employees; acts as a liaison between the department and the community being a front-line responder; responsible for general office management as well as supervision of departmental staff; and all other related work as required and directed. This is a full-time, exempt position, hiring salary range: $96,931-$107,516 annually plus yearly step increases, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to be a part of our team of dedicated public servants.
