The town of Lincoln – an organization that believes that workforce diversity strengthens performance, integrity, trust, and partnerships with our staff, boards, committees, community, and guests – is seeking a part-time, 20-hr per week Administrative Assistant for its department of Planning and Land Use. Under the supervision of the Director of Planning and Land Use, this position is responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the department and committee, including processing land use applications, maintenance of records, and facilitating the permitting process through professional interaction with residents, applicants, developers, and other town departments.
The administrative assistance will serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries to the Planning and Land Use department, and will provide professional, informed responses to the public, applicants, and town staff regarding planning processes, application requirements, and departmental procedures. They will also schedule meetings, prepare legal notices, compile agendas and meeting packets, post materials to the town website, and draft meeting minutes.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or relevant coursework in public administration, office management, or planning preferred; minimum of two years’ administrative experience required; municipal or land use/planning office experience highly desirable; equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
