The town of Sandwich is seeking a full-time, 40 hour per week Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Director. Position is responsible for all aspects of the operation and administration of the DNR including providing the Conservation Commission with administrative, technical oversight and enforcement of local, state and federal wetlands protection bylaws, and other laws and regulations. Implements, oversees and enforces all provisions of conservation, natural resource, wildlife, shellfish, domestic animal control/protection, wildlife control efforts, beach management and re-nourishment efforts and wetlands protection laws, town bylaws and regulations. Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills are essential. Bachelor’s degree in natural resource management, environmental science, wildlife biology, environmental law enforcement or related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of shellfish, coastal and inland waterways laws, animal control, and other natural resource conservation laws, federal, state, and local wetland protection laws required.
