Hopedale is seeking a Director for the Council on Aging. Our unique Senior Center which serves 1,471 age 60-plus seniors is located in a historic building in the center of town. In addition to seniors, the Council on Aging serves all Hopedale residents seeking assistance with federal energy and food programs.
The Director oversees the daily operations of the Senior Center, creates innovative programs, publishes a monthly newsletter, manages the departmental budget, supervises staff and volunteers, oversees transportation and outreach services and is the liaison and advocate for the town’s senior population.
The Director works under the administrative direction of a nine member Council on Aging Board collaboratively establishing policies, strategic plans and objectives. The Director provides the Council on Aging Board with monthly reports that evaluate programs and services.
Hours of Work: 37.5, Full time, Exempt Benefited position
Salary: $70,000-$75,000 +/- DOE
The recommended minimum requirements for the position are:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Gerontology, Human Services or a closely related field
- Five to six years of progressive experience working with the senior population
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong public service emphasis
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google software
- CORI required
- Drivers’ license required
