The Conservation Planner is a professional position within the Planning and Community Development department reporting directly to the Director of Planning and Community Development undertaking natural resource related duties. The Conservation Planner also provides support, coordination and professional management for the Conservation Commission, an appointed five member commission, in carrying out its mandate and mission to protect the community’s natural resources. The Conservation Planner ensures compliance with environmental laws and regulations, specifically Wetland Protection Act [Mass. General Laws Chapter 131 Section 40], local wetland ordinance/bylaws and all other rules, regulations, local, state and federal laws that may relate to the duties of the position. Errors can result in delay or loss of service, monetary loss, adverse public relation and/or legal consequences for the town of Braintree.
