The city of Lowell is seeking candidates for the position of Commissioner of Public Works in the Department of Public Works. The position reports directly to the City Manager and is responsible for managing and directing all public works operations in accordance with federal, state and local laws and policies. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering preferred; environmental engineering, public administration, management or a closely related field; master’s degree preferred; eight to 10 years of professional engineering, management, construction and administrative experience, for which two years must have been in a supervisory, managerial or administrative capacity, preferably including experience in municipal public works with two years as a director or assistant director. Salary range: $121,656.60 (min) to $142,935.00 (max) per city ordinance; 35 hr/wk.
