The town of Easton is accepting applications for a qualified detailed oriented professional to fill the position of full time Collector/Treasurer. The Collector/Treasurer assists with managing the town’s financial operations including the functions of overseeing revenue/collection services, debt service, bond issuances, payroll system and employee benefits programs.

Duties include but are not limited to: Overseeing certain financial operations of the town, including custody and management of funds, billing and collections, cash flow analysis, and fund management. The role includes preparing deposits, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with state and federal reporting requirements. It also involves managing debt obligations, preparing budgets and financial forecasts, initiating tax liens and collections and administering employee payroll and benefits. The successful candidate will supervise department staff, maintain accurate records, and provide responsive service to taxpayers and external stakeholders.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, business management or related field; five years of experience in a municipal management position and an additional two years of supervisory experience as a Collector/Treasurer; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Massachusetts certification as a Collector and Treasurer is desired. The successful candidate must have the ability to become bonded.

This is a salaried position with excellent pay, benefits and municipal pension system. Step 1 is $102,111 annually; anticipated hiring range is $102,111 – $117,291.20 depending on qualifications.
